“WOODS BOX” assembled from several solid woods. Different woods are used on all sides, including hiba, magnolia, red cedar, ash, oak and katsura. It is made by craftsmen who produce mainly wooden square shape box or tray before lacquering called “Kakumono”, and is assembled with such a high degree of precision that it appears at first glance to be a block of wood. They also actively use wood with knots, insect bites, splits, rough bark and uneven colouring, which would normally be impossible to use, as they consider them to be unique.

複数の無垢木材を組上げた木箱。ヒバ、朴木、米杉、タモ、オーク、桂などを使用し、全ての面に異なる木材が使用されています。漆器の重箱やトレイなどの「角物」を中心とした木地制作をする職人によって作られており、一見すると木材の塊のように見えるほど高い精度で組上げらています。また、節、虫食い、割れ、粗い木肌、色むらなど本来使用出来ないような木材をそれらの個性として捉え、積極的に使用しています。
