The defining quality of Echizen lacquerware lies in its embrace of “Awai” the in-between space. The product “PARK” is born from these two expressions of “Awai.” Its half-pipe form draws inspiration from the gentle divisions found in lacquerware serving dishes and plates. At the dining table, it serves equally well as a tray, bowl, or plate. On a desk, it neatly gathers scattered stationery or eyeglasses. Placed by the entryway, it becomes the perfect home for keys and accessories.
