SEKISAKA will participate in Japanmade Vol.1 during 3daysofdesign 2026, taking place in Copenhagen from 10–12 June 2026.
Japanmade Vol.1 is a new exhibition platform dedicated to contemporary Japanese design and craftsmanship.
The exhibition is conceived by Danish-born writer and producer Jens H. Jensen, who has lived in Japan for more than twenty years, and curated and designed by Copenhagen-based OEO Studio.
The inaugural edition brings together five Japanese brands: New Light Pottery, MAS, Naowashi, Sheep, and SEKISAKA.
Each brand continues to produce locally in Japan, working closely with specialised small and medium-sized producers, craftspeople, and regional manufacturing networks.
SEKISAKA is a Japanese manufacturer rooted in the Kawada district of Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture — a region renowned for Echizen Urushi lacquerware.
Drawing on centuries-old lacquerware techniques and the region’s evolution into modern commercial production, SEKISAKA creates contemporary objects that reinterpret traditional craftsmanship through modern materials and everyday use.
SEKISAKAは、2026年6月10日から12日までコペンハーゲンで開催される 3daysofdesign 2026 にて、Japanmade Vol.1 に参加します。
Japanmade Vol.1 は、日本の現代的なデザインとクラフトマンシップを紹介する新しい展示プラットフォームです。日本に20年以上暮らすデンマーク出身のライター／プロデューサー Jens H. Jensen によって企画され、会場構成およびキュレーションはコペンハーゲンを拠点とするデザインスタジオOEO Studio が担当します。
初回となる2026年の展示では、New Light Pottery、MAS Karimoku、Naowashi、Sheep、SEKISAKAの5組の日本ブランドが参加。それぞれのブランドは、日本各地の産地や職人、専門的な中小規模の生産者との関係を大切にしながら、現代の暮らしに向けたものづくりを行っています。
SEKISAKAは、福井県鯖江市・河和田地区に根ざすメーカーです。この地域は越前漆器の産地として知られ、長い歴史の中で木製漆器から業務用漆器、樹脂成形、塗装、加飾技術へと発展してきました。今回の展示では、伝統的な技術背景をもとに、現代の素材や生活に合わせて再解釈したプロダクトを紹介します。
